Many requests for The Old Settlers: A Nation Within Itself (1988) have been made throughout the years, but the book is out-of-print. This particular edition shown at the right is in the form of an E-Book (digital) and must be downloaded to your computer. The original book cost $35--23 years ago.
Because of its size, and the amount of photographs, the book must be sold and downloaded in four (4) parts. Old Settler families are listed alphabetically. Each part is $8.99. That amounts to $36 and is still a bargain in 2012.
The families with surnames Bannister, Manning, Ricks and Segee were not included in the print edition but have since been added to the e-book edition--along with new pictures. All proceeds for this book will be used to fund projects for historical preservation related to The Old Settlers. The next project will be the purchase an entrance momument for Wheatland/Morgan Cemetery outside of Remus, MI. Other projects in the past have included cemetery headstones for Estello and Gladys Guy -Harper and Harrison Harding.
